Neighbourhoods of the Future: Open for Business

The convergence of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), potentially game-changing assistive technologies and big data analytics constitutes a golden opportunity to rethink the outlook for ageing populations, especially in terms of housing.

Earlier this week at the House of Lords, Westminster London, the Agile Ageing Alliance (AAA) and Tata Steel launched Neighbourhoods of the Future 2019. Hosted by Lord Best, Chair All Party Parliamentary Committee on Housing and Care for Older People, the 344 page “white paper” captures the thoughts and predictions of a veritable `who's who' of eminent experts and emerging thought leaders.

Described by one distinguished academic as “An extremely valuable volume, not least because it is qualitatively so impressive! Every page has its own gorgeous individual design, as it has its one individual contribution to make, as well!" Neighbourhoods of the Future is essential reading for anyone committed to creating a brighter future for our older selves.

In these pages, you will discover what, in an ideal world, our homes and neighbourhoods could look like in 10 to 20 years and, more to the point, what steps must be taken now to disrupt the status quo and make this bold vision a reality.

In partnership with Ageingfit 2019, Neighbourhoods of the Future will be launched in Lille, France on January 29th and 30th. Click here to find out how to download your free digital copy. And, with thanks to our friends at Tata Steel, we also have 100 physical copies to give away. If you would like the chance to receive one, write to info@agileageing.org, include a mailing address, and describe how you could help further the AAA mission.

According to Peter Drucker, an Austrian-born, American entrepreneur, educator, and author who has been described as "the founder of modern management": The best way to predict the future is to create it
